WordCamp Jacksonville 2018 was held on April 7 and 8th at Keiser University. WordCamp is an annual conference that focuses on everything WordPress, organized by the community and put on by WordPress users. Everyone from casual users who need help with their website to core developers participate, share ideas and get to know each other.
In this presentation, we focused on different image formats and steps to follow before uploading them to a website. We set up a process to prepare images for the web and went over tools to measure loading time. We also looked at some examples of before and after image optimization.
Every year the weight of an average site keeps increasing, mainly because of image sizes. Optimizing images is the biggest win when it comes to your website speed.
